2016 Annual Pine Needle Pick Up and BBQ

The annual Mt. Charleston Pine Needle Pick Up and Community BBQ is happening on June 4, 2016.

Community volunteers are needed to help with this event. The biggest need is for people who have trucks to drive around and transfer the bagged pine needles to the dumpsters.

4th Annual Mt. Charleston Fall Festival

The 4th annual Mt. Charleston Fall Festival is coming up! This family friendly event will include hikes, art projects, music, campfires and S’mores.

The Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 17 and is free to everyone.

The location will be at the new Spring Mountains Visitor Center in Kyle Canyon. The Visitor Center is located right before The Resort on Mt. Charleston at 2750 Kyle Canyon Road (SR 157).

Ski Resort Opening Day – December 13

The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort has reported that they will be opening for the winter season on Saturday, December 13. With a Winter Storm Watch in effect for the Mt. Charleston area, the forecast calls for multiple inches of snow at the higher elevations.

2014 Mt. Charleston Fall Festival

The annual Mt. Charleston Fall Festival is coming up! The festival will include events such as hikes, art projects, music, campfires and S’mores.

The Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 1pm to 5pm and is free to everyone.

The location will be at the Foxtail Group Picnic Area in Lee Canyon on NV-156, 16 miles from the US-95 intersection.

Warming Trend to Bring Higher Temps by the End of the Week

While Las Vegas and the surrounding areas reach record temperatures around 80°F, Mount Charleston will be warming up as well with temperatures near 60°F by the end of the week.

The warmer temperatures are scheduled to last for a while with a slight chance of cooling back down towards the middle of next week.
