Two Mount Charleston fires that were started on Saturday are still burning as of today at noon.  Both of the fires were started by lightning.

The fires are located near Harris Springs Road which is located off of State Route 157.  Approximately 15 acres of BLM land have burned so far.

BLM and USFS firefighter crews are working together to extinguish both fires. About 50 firefighters, 4 fire engines, a helicopter and other equipment are being used at this point.

Please note that due to high temperatures and dry conditions, fire restrictions remain in effect on all of Mount Charleston.
